UT Sets Out on $1.1 Billion
Join the Journey Campaign
Last fall, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, launched the boldest fundraising campaign in its history to transform our university and create an extraordinary student experience. With a goal of $1.1 billion, the Join the Journey campaign will propel UT towards its goal to become a premier public research institution.
The College of Social Work has already exceeded its campaign goal of $5.5 million, having raised over $7.7 million by June 30. Fiscal year 2018 was the best fundraising year in the history of the college as it received its single largest planned gift of $3.5 million, as well as a bequest of over $700,000.
Your role in helping us shape the next generation of leaders is crucial to the state and nation. Human capital is our future, and it will differentiate us as a society.
The College of Social Work is joining the University in supporting five key philanthropic investments. The college has specific funding priorities for the original overall goal of $5,500,000.
The college priorities are:
- Faculty Investment: $2,000,000
- Graduate Fellowships: $1,500,000
- Need based Scholarships: $250,000
- Additional Undergraduate Scholarships: $250,000
- Additional Unit Priorities: $1,500,000
Gifts of all sizes continue to build on our outstanding programs and to fuel the work of exceptional students, faculty and staff. Dr. David Dupper, Interim Dean of the College of Social Work, welcomes our alums and friend to join in this project that will benefit, not just our college, but the entire university family. He says, "More than half of all the gifts to this campaign have been $100 or less. It is our hope that College of Social Work alums will support this campaign."
