Short Bio
Kurt Olsson, DSW, LCSW

Kurt Olsson earned his Master of Social Work degree from Brigham Young University. He has worked with a variety of clients and settings including adolescents in residential treatment, adults in substance abuse treatment, as well as a broad general practice with individuals and families. He has provided clinical and addiction treatment, professional consultation, and relationship enrichment as an employee of LDS Family Services for over ten years. Having earned his Doctor of Social Work degree from the University of Tennessee, he specializes in the influences of emotion and motivation on human behavior. He is currently the counseling manager and administers the 12-step Addiction Recovery Program for LDS Family Services in Virginia.

Research Interests

He works to understand and utilize the influences of emotion and motivation on human behavior in the social environment, particularly to benefit those seeking treatment for substance use disorders and other addictions.
