Each year the College of Social Work honors its team of Knoxville area social work field instructors at a breakfast. This year the event took place at the Foundry on May 1.
The highlight of this event is the presentation of Social Work Field Instructor of the Year awards to MSSW and BSSW winners. This year's winners were chosen from a field of excellent candidate nominees. Nominations are received from students. Each nominee received a certificate including the nomination statements from students.
The BSSW Field Instructor of the Year is Juli Cunningham who received the award at the nomination of her student, Taylor Long.
The MSSW Field Instructor of the Year is Bobby McNamara, who received the award at the nomination of two students, Kelly Connolly and Ellen Knotts Ritchey.
The Nashville campus of the UT College of Social Work hosted its Field Instructor Appreciation Breakfast on Friday, May 1. The event took place at the Center for Nonprofit Management. This event give students, as well as the college, the opportunity to honor those field instructors who have dedicated hours and much energy to the practical education of our 2015 student cohort.
Chelsey Davis awarded the Rising Star Award to Yasmin Johnson of Metro Nashville Public Schools. This year the Rising Star Award was given for the first time. It recognizes excellence in first time field instructors.
Brooke Allen presented Mitzi Hines of Vanderbilt Children's Hospital the Field Instructor of the Year award.
Kevin Cuchia presented Kevin Boggess of the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System Veterans Administration Nashville with the Commitment to Service Award.
