International Service Learning and Community Engagement in Costa Rica

SOWK 316/318/538 are 3-credit hour courses offered at UTK during the spring term with an optional spring break study abroad and service learning experience in Costa Rica. Students will work with their field education coordinators and field liaisons to receive field credit for the spring break component and, by participating, will engage in meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich their learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen intercultural understanding
