Professors Retire After 26 Years of Service
Dr. John Orme and Dr. Teri Combs-Orme retire at the end of the academic year after 26 years of service to the College and University. At Commencement on Saturday, May 11, Interim Dean David Dupper said, "I am very pleased to announce that both John and Terri have earned the rank of Professor Emeritus and Professor Emerita upon their retirement. This is a significant achievement, and on behalf of the College and the University, we express our sincere gratitude for your 26 years of service. You will be missed!"

College Launches Online BSSW Program
The College has announced the launch of our newest academic offering: the Online BSSW Program. The program is specifically designed for transfer students who have earned 60 credit hours and an Associate of Art (A.A.) or Associate of Science (A.S.) degree from a regionally accredited community college.
All curriculum and program requirements for the Online BSSW Program are identical to those required for the on-campus BSSW Program.
Dr. Teri Abrams & the Grand Challenges for Social Work
In celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the founding of the UT College of Social Work, we are honoring 75 social workers -- alumni, faculty, staff, and others -- whose work and lives exemplify the Twelve Grand Challenges that have been identified by the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare.
Dr. Teri Abrams is our 56th Grand Challenger whose work addresses the 8th Grand Challenge, "Harness technology for social good."
