Alumna Kaycee Bills Receives Invisible Disabilities Inspiration Award

Dr. Kaycee Bills, a 2019 graduate of the College of Social Work’s PhD program, has been selected to be the 2021 recipient of the Invisible Disabilities® Association’s “But You LOOK Good” Inspiration Award. Dr. Bills has been chosen based upon her incredible journey of pursuing her dreams of achieving a Bachelors, then Masters, and ultimately a Doctorate in Social Work while living with autism. Dr. Bills’ perseverance while overcoming the bullies and naysayers is truly inspiring, and focusing her education on social work allows her to give back to the autism, neuro diverse, and invisible disabilities communities.

Dr. Bills has served as an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Fayetteville State University since 2019. She received of her Bachelor’s in Social Work (BSW) from the University of Saint Francis in 2013, her MSW from Hawaii Pacific University in 2015, and her PhD from the University of Tennessee in 2019.  Her research interests are disability social work and special education. She has published several articles and has been featured on news channels about her advocacy for disability social work.
