Dr. J. Camille HallThe Office of Equity and Inclusion at the College continues to make great strides in implementing awareness and change at the College, under the direction of Dr. Camille Hall, Associate Dean for Equity and Inclusion (pictured), and with the support of Dean Messinger.

  • Critical Conversations Training. In August 2020, 12 faculty took part in the Critical Conversations Training. These individuals are “trainers” who will train other faculty/staff throughout the semester. The first training session for faculty members took place October 26-29. Additional training will be scheduled in early December.
  • Diversity Action Plan. The Diversity Action Plan (DAP) was submitted to the Division of Diversity and Engagement (DDE) on September 15 for review and approval. Once feedback is received, all CSW stakeholders will have an opportunity to provide input.
  • UTCSW Generating Justice Speaker Series. Facebook Live events: Caroline Randall Williams took place September 24, 2020, and Peniel Joseph will be held November 10. The lineup for Spring 2021 will be announced once finalized.
  • Affinity Groups. More than 40 faculty/staff signed-up to participate in the BIPoC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) or White Accountability Groups (WAG). The groups meet monthly to discuss important works on anti-Black racism and to hold one another accountable as everyone works to improve social justice.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is asking everyone to commit to seeking out training opportunities and events that will support personal and professional growth with regards to anti-racism and social justice.
