We understand. You probably have some questions about the Online MSSW Program at the University of Tennessee. So, we’ve put together a detailed FAQ that covers the most common questions we are asked each year. Yes. All classes will be offered through an online format. Students will also complete an internship at an approved agency. Student internships will be arranged within a reasonable driving distance from the student’s location.

No. There is currently no requirement for Online MSSW students to come to one of the College campuses.

Yes. Your first stop should be the Office of Financial Aid website. You’ll find information there on the various types of aid, the requirements, and how to apply.

All admitted students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA and search for external funding.

Regardless of whether an applicant lives in Tennessee, another state, or even outside of the United States, you are eligible to apply.

No. Students must move along with their cohort and follow the stated program of study.

Yes! Online students may (but are not required to) attend Graduate Hooding (the conferring of MSSW degrees) and walk in the procession at either the Knoxville or the Nashville campus.
