Stephanie Frierson lives in Nashville and works on the UTCSW Nashville campus. She has been with the College of Social Work since August 2020. 

How long have you been with the College of Social Work?
I started working with the College of Social Work in August 2020. It was quite challenging starting a new job in the middle of a pandemic. The only way I got to meet people at first was on Zoom so that was definitely different. I was nice when the campuses opened back up an I got to see my coworkers in person for the first time, which was about nine months after I started.

What does your job entail?
I am the Administrative Support Staff at the Nashville campus. I support the MSSW faculty.  I support all faculty when needed with travel and I support the field faculty with keeping track of the student’s field placement. I really like the variety of my job. Every day brings something new and I love learning about the college and the programs.

What is your favorite part of the job and/or favorite part of UT?
My favorite part about my job here at UT is helping other people. I consider myself to be a helper, so it brings me joy when I am helping someone else. Whether it is helping a faculty member with their program, or helping other staff or students, I enjoy knowing what I do is helping to make a difference.

What do you like best about living and working in Nashville? 
Nashville is my home. I was born and raised here in Nashville. I love living in Nashville because my entire family is here, and I have great friends that make it easy to work here. Nashville is just an all-around fun city and you can always find something to do.
