Understanding Modern Day Segregation with Nikole Hannah-Jones

The College of Social Work and the Social Justice Innovation Initiative had the pleasure of hosting two special events on Thursday, September 6, 2018 with award-winning investigative reporter and writer for the New York Times Magazine, Nikole Hannah-Jones (@nhannahjones).

Hannah-Jones is a 2017 recipent of the MacArthur Foundation Genius Award and is a co-founder of the Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Reporting

The two separate events that day were:

  • A moderated conversation with current University of Tennessee, Knoxville students, faculty, and staff in the Toyota Auditorium of the Howard Baker Center
