UTCSW Assistant Professor of Practice Stephanie Weatherstone Receives International Validated Credentials

UTCSW Assistant Professor of Practice Stephanie Weatherstone recently obtained the IAEDP-Approved Supervisor designation from the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP) Foundation. This is an internationally validated credential, and Weatherstone is only the fifth therapist in the state of Tennessee to earn it.

Weatherstone previously earned the CEDS in 2019, and this supervisory level certification is the most advanced level of certification. This prestigious designation includes a minimum of five years and 6,000 hours of assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of eating disorders, specialized training, and intensive oversite, in addition to maintaining all appropriate state social work licensure and certification qualifications. Weatherstone joins an elite group of professionals committed to excellence in the treatment of eating disorders who desire to mentor, educate and encourage other clinicians in this field who are seeking IAEDP’S Certified Eating Disorder Specialist designation.

Weatherstone currently serves as the Owner and Founder of Weatherstone Collaborative, a center for insight-driven psychotherapists to grow in their expertise and treatment of disordered eating. With this IAEDP-Approved Supervisor designation, she plans to continue mentoring mental health professionals to achieve excellence and innovation in their eating disorder treatment and to expand comprehensive ED treatment in the greater East Tennessee region. Weatherstone is also Assistant Professor of Practice in the UT College of Social Work, in addition to her work as Clinical Director at Weatherstone Collaborative.
